Historic Lanier Building, circa 1913
— Design Brief —
The interior design process for the Women for Women’s Health medical office was a progression over time as the practice grew and moved into larger facilities throughout the years. SMR Interiors was initially hired to update the waiting room in its original location. Since the office was located in a hospital, there were many design restrictions such as carpeting, wall coverings, and paint colors, which were standard throughout the building and could not be modified. Suzanne began refreshing the waiting room by restoring some of the existing furnishings with new upholstery and reconditioned finishes. The interior was completed with the introduction of up-to-date additions of custom furniture, wall décor, lighting, and accessories.
When the practice moved to a larger location in a historic building also owned by the hospital, Suzanne M Rogers Interiors integrated the previously selected furnishings with new pieces and designed a welcoming entry, reception area, waiting room, and auxiliary rooms.
The medical office was transformed into a comfortable environment with a peaceful color palette for patients, as well as the medical staff. Suzanne’s original monochrome photography of iconic Southern botanicals hangs on the walls in the reception area and waiting room. All furnishings are ADA compliant and medical grade.
